Sergeant Pepper ziet toe op platenkoper

DEVENTER – Met de legendarische hoes van de Beatles-lp ‘Sergeant Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band’ in de hand schildert Marina Nijdeken (23) uit de losse pols de contouren van John Lennon. Zij werkt aan een wandschildering van vijf meter breed en drie meter hoog in platenwinkel Bep Dylan aan de Grote Overstraat.

John Lennon spent long summer holidays at Durness in Sutherland – between the years when he was aged 9 to 14. He even returned in adult life with his wife Yoko Ono. The area had such an impact on the ex-Beatle that he wrote the seminal song, In My Life, about the highland village.
